The Brief
Eldridge London, a practice known for their visionary, one-off architectural designs, approached us to help realise a dramatic centrepiece for one of their latest residential projects. The defining feature of the home was to be a striking, triangular tunnel—an architectural gesture that would simultaneously conceal and reveal the entrance to the building.
Our challenge was to create a huge geometric door that would sit completely flush within the form of the tunnel, disappearing into the architecture when closed. The design called for a bold and sculptural presence, paired with an uncompromising level of precision and minimalism.
Design Direction
The team at Eldridge London were immediately drawn to our signature bronze patina finish—a rich, surface that brings depth, warmth, and character to contemporary forms. It became central to the aesthetic of the entrance, chosen to contrast the sharp geometry of the tunnel with a timeless materiality.
From the outset, the intent was clear: the door should be entirely integrated, with no visible hardware or framing, creating a seamless and sculptural architectural element.
Engineering & Craftsmanship
A custom steel subframe was fabricated and installed on site with a manufacturing tolerance of just 2mm—critical to achieving a perfectly flush fit and smooth operation within the tight geometric constraints of the triangular form.
The door was constructed to mirror the precise angles of the tunnel, requiring close collaboration between designers, metalworkers, and joiners. Every detail, from the hidden pivot mechanism to the invisible junction lines, was carefully resolved to maintain the purity of the form.
The final bronze patina finish was applied in the workshop, creating a richly textured surface with natural tonal variations
Before & After
The transformation of the space is best captured in visuals. Before installation, the triangular tunnel appeared as a bold architectural void—striking, but incomplete. After the door was fitted, the entire entrance was unified into a cohesive and sculptural statement, bringing the architect’s vision fully to life.

Outcome
This project reflects the power of collaboration between innovative architecture and skilled craftsmanship. The finished piece stands as both a functional entrance and a sculptural feature of the home’s design language. Working with Eldridge London allowed us to push the boundaries of what a door could be—not just an entry point, but a triangular architectural statement in its own right.
Everyone involved in the project—from the architects to our joiners—was delighted with the outcome, proud to see such a bold concept brought to life with precision, care, and integrity.
